Youth Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Training (Busselton)

Lifeline together with Rio Tinto present ‘Youth Mental Health and Suicide Prevention’ training.

Through a four-year partnership with Rio Tinto, Lifeline WA is delivering free, evidence-based youth mental health and suicide prevention training. These workshops are suitable for anyone who supports or works alongside young people — including educators, community members, parents, coaches, youth workers and frontline staff. No prior experience is needed. The training is hands-on and focuses on real, everyday situations, giving participants practical skills they can use in their roles and communities straight away.

👉 Hello, This is Lifeline Youth

In this session, participants will learn about the services Lifeline offers, a range of reasons young people may use crisis support, and how it can help. They will also explore basic steps on how to check in with a friend and encourage them to seek further support.

👉 Youth MHFA
Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches participants how to provide initial support to a young person (aged 12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis. Participants learn how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem, approach a young person they are concerned about, offer initial support and information and help the young person to seek professional help or other supports. This course is suitable for participants aged 18 years and over and is particularly beneficial for parents, carers, teachers, youth workers, coaches, and other adults who regularly interact with young people. Participants who complete the course and a short online assessment can become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider). Accreditation is valid for 3 years and can be extended for a further 3 years by completing a Refresher course.
